While just arrived I have found the author's approach viable and honest. As an avid student of the art of chess I know the statistical nature of positional chess. After 3 moves your looking well beyond 900,00 combinations and almost 9 million after 4 moves. Incomprehensible for the average player to digest let alone play. This book wittle down choices into a more palatable selection set. The author recommends 5 positions per week to be studied, digested and repeated as needed. Thus affording a player of limited studying time to quickly improve their strength. Finally a book for the rest of us...affordable, relevant, and current without endless lines of play to try and memorize! Well done and highly recommended from Joe Club PlayerAs an edit after seeing another's post...yes OF COURSE these games are found in current databases that's WHY they are important! What is relevant here is why they should be incorporated into ones repretoir and practices regularly.
